Little jazz band Cosimo and Hot Coals may not have legions of adoring fans or sell out huge venues. However, the Milan-based quintet ended up accomplishing something far more valuable, bringing a smile to a frail, bedridden old woman. A video of an elderly lady, bursting into tears of joy as she receives a surprise virtual performance from her favorite band, is making the rounds on social media and winning hearts across the internet.

The video was originally posted on the band’s Instagram handle. However, the video started gaining more views and trending on social media after being shared on an Instagram page called Good News Movement. The video showed a sickly old lady lying in a hospital bed and watching a virtual concert, Cosimo and the Hot Coals arranged for her as she could no longer attend their live concerts due to failing health.

“This is Franca, a 94 year old woman who loves to listen to her favorite band @cosimoandthehotcoals. She’s no longer able to attend their concerts in person, so every once in a while the band show up to serenade her Thank you gentlemen,” he posted along with the video.

The video shows the quintet serenading the woman. Like any fangirl, she reacts with a shy smile and misty eyes. Since being shared by the Godnews movement, the clip has garnered over 1.4 million views. One Instagram user wrote, “The best thing I’ll see on the internet today.” “The peace and joy they bring her is priceless. Nice work gentlemen,” posted another. “His toe is tapping under the sheets!” commented another.

We sincerely hope that the group has managed to gain a new fandom thanks to their good gesture. In addition to charming old ladies with improvised jazz performances, the band also plays classic old songs from the 1920s and 1930s!
