Pass It On: 60th Anniversary Musical Celebration
Sunday November 6 at 7 p.m.

The Preservation Hall Jazz Band’s iconic and exuberant “Big Easy” sound will have the audience dancing from start to finish of their concert. People from all over the world make pilgrimages to Preservation Hall, a humble and much-loved venue in New Orleans’ French Quarter dedicated to keeping jazz’s past and future alive. This fall, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band embarks on its own pilgrimage – a national tour to celebrate the Hall’s 60th anniversary. Founded in 1961 by tuba player Allan Jaffe to preserve New Orleans’ priceless musical heritage, the band has remained timelessly relevant, sharing the stage with artists like Stevie Wonder, Elvis Costello, Grateful Dead, Foo Fighters, My Morning Jacket, Arcade Fire, The Black Keys and countless others. The band’s mission remains focused on creating indescribable experiences through their musical and cultural heritage. “Touring is part of our ritual,” adds Ben Jaffe, Allan’s son and creative director of Preservation Hall. “When my parents started touring with the band in the early 60s, they brought something that most people didn’t even know existed on stages around the world…it’s part of our mission: go out into the world and make that experience available to people.” Be in the audience for the Preservation Hall Jazz Band’s 60th anniversary musical celebration and be a part of their iconic musical history!
