Old Malt House jazz group to perform at Bridport Arts Center

A POPULAR jazz group set to perform as part of a musical extravaganza in West Dorset.

Swing and Jazz Band The Old Malt House is a Bristol swing and jazz ensemble with a passion for traditional 1920s-1940s jazz, with Joseph Trudgeon on vocals and guitar. They will perform as part of the ‘Jazz in the Theater’ series.

In addition to performing at festivals such as Glastonbury, Boomtown and Fanny’s Meadow, the Old Malt House Jazz Band has performed across the country from London to the Brecon Beacons and Cornwall to the delight of local jazz fans.

The group is led by Joseph Trudgeon and his regular collaborator, saxophonist Greg Sterland. They will be joined by their rhythm section of Dan Somers on piano, Bill Frampton on double bass and Paul Archibald on drums.

Their set includes Dinah by Louis Armstrong, Me, Myself and I by Billie Holiday (Are All in Love with You), and Can’t we be Friends by Red Nichols and his Five Pennies, not to mention Little Ann Street Stomppenned by Joseph Trudgeon. itself in a 1920s style.

They will perform on Friday December 17th at 8 p.m. at the Bridport Arts Center.
