The Francis Vanek Quartet (Francis Vanek and the RLL Jazz Trio) will perform authentic 50’s and 60’s style jazz during Arts Alive! Saturdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Morris Graves Museum of Art, 636 F St. in Eureka. There is no charge to attend.

This local / world-class jazz group consists of Francis Vanek (saxophone), Tim Randles (piano), Ken Lawrence (bass) and Dee Lehman (drums). The RLL Jazz Trio has been the host jazz group of the Westhaven Center of the Arts for six years and has hosted a wide variety of local jazz musicians and singers to perform. Vanek is one of the regulars of the group.

Guests who stop to listen to the jazz concert are encouraged to visit the galleries of the museum as well. Exhibits include “E-Motion” by Julie Frith and Kathryn Stotler; Emily Reinhart’s “Perfect Mix”; and tapestries by Victor Jacoby.

The Morris Graves Museum of Art is open to the public from noon to 5 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. Admission is $ 5 for adults; $ 2 for people 65 years of age and over, military veterans and students with ID; and free for children 17 and under, families with an EBT card and valid ID, and museum members. Admission is always free for everyone on the first Saturday of every month, including Arts Alive!

To ensure the safety of museum staff, volunteers and visitors, guests should continue to wear masks inside the Morris Graves Museum of Art.
