Saxophonist Dillon Poole will represent Mid-Prairie in the Iowa All-State Jazz Band. Poole, a junior, was one of 21 student-musicians selected to play in the statewide Class 1A/2A band. To qualify, he had to record his performance of approximately 50 bars of pre-selected music, played with a recorded rhythm section, and submit the finished product to a judge. He will receive the performance parts for the show at a ceremony that recognizes all All-State selections that coincides with the Iowa Jazz Championships on April 5.and. The Iowa All-State Jazz Band will perform in Des Moines on May 12and.
