Caltech Jazz Band Announces 20th Annual Free Caltech Jazz Festival – Pasadena Weekendr

The Caltech Jazz Band will perform their 20th Annual Caltech Jazz Festival on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event will take place at Hameetman Patio on the Caltech campus near the Red Door Cafe. It is open to the public and performers will include the Caltech Jazz Band led by Barb Catlin with guest artist Gordon Goodwin, the Iban Lee Quartet and the Caltech Jazz Guitar Ensemble, with guest Riner Scivally.
This year’s guest artist, Gordon Goodwin, is an eminent American pianist, saxophonist, composer, arranger and conductor. He is the leader of Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band. He has won four Grammy Awards, three Daytime Emmy Awards, and received over twenty Grammy nominations for his compositions and arrangements. Gordon has worked with Ray Charles, Christina Aguilera, Johnny Mathis, Toni Braxton, John Williams, Natalie Cole, David Foster, Sarah Vaughan, Mel Torme, Brian McKnight and Quincy Jones, to name a few. He has also conducted world-renowned symphony orchestras in Atlanta, Dallas, Utah, Seattle, Toronto and London.
Free entry. No ticket is required, but a limited number of seats are available. Spectators are encouraged to bring food and blankets for a picnic on the lawn.
