September 18: Jazz on Broadway – With Manny Houston
Pick up your tickets and take a seat when the curtain opens to your Charleston Jazz Orchestra’s Jazz on Broadway with Manny Houston. Neon lights will shine brightly as your CJO brings Broadway to the Charleston Music Hall stage. Tonight will be An enchanted evening like All is well with And all that! October 23: Groovin ‘High – Tribute to Dizzy Gillespie with Jon Faddis
With a relationship spanning 30 years, from idol to mentor to friend, few living musicians have such a deep connection to jazz legend and Bebop pioneer Dizzy Gillespie as Jon Faddis. When Faddis burst onto the jazz scene, audiences marveled at the young musician’s range, techniques, and ability to successfully mirror Dizzy Gillespie’s complex style. Faddis quickly developed his own style and is now known as one of the most innovative and inspiring jazz trumpeters of our time.
