Nevada Museum of Art Presents Reno Jazz Orchestra Concert | South of Lake Tahoe
October 21, 2022 – 7:30 p.m.
The Reno Jazz Orchestra will perform “Creative Directions in Jazz” at the Nevada Museum of Art on October 21, 2022. The program is presented as part of UPSTAGE: A Literary and Performing Art Series supported by the Nightingale Family Foundation and the Williams Foundation. The concert will feature original compositions by contemporary composers.
During this innovative concert, the public will be treated to the musical journey of the Orchestra of seventeen musicians exploring new creative directions in jazz during this unique event.
This concert is brand new material that will be professionally produced in recording sessions at the University of Nevada, Reno.
The Reno Jazz Orchestra has recorded five albums, mostly of previously premiered works. His album SPIRITS, which is a tribute to the popular 70s band “Earth, Wind and Fire”, has been submitted for consideration for a GRAMMY award.
Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. performance will be available on the Nevada Museum of Art website at NevadaArt.org. Tickets for Museum members are $35, general public $40, and student tickets are $20.

The Reno Jazz Orchestra has been based in Northern Nevada for over 20 years and was formed by musicians who have performed and traveled the world with artists such as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Elvis Presley, Natalie Cole, Luciano Pavarotti and other legendary artists. . The tradition of jazz excellence established by the founders continues today with jazz teachers, educators and graduates of the University of Nevada, Reno Jazz Studies program setting new standards for performance.
