NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra (NOJO) welcomes the 2022 Big Beat Galacelebrating the Grammy-winning orchestra’s 20th anniversary on Saturday November 19. The annual fundraiser kicks off with a patron’s reception at 6 p.m. and the concert at 7 p.m. at the New Orleans Jazz Market.

The in-person event features an engaging live music program featuring NOJO Creative Director Adonis Rose and the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra performing standards and original music. “Resilience, spiritual strength and innovation are hallmarks of the African-American experience. These qualities are expressed in musical terms as jazz – the music developed and preserved in New Orleans,” says Bill Rouselle, board member of the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra. “Please join us as we celebrate 20 years of sustaining and growing the spirit of jazz.”

The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra was formed in 2002 and was designed to celebrate and fortify the American jazz portfolio while providing an infrastructure for the development of the New Orleans jazz industry. Led by General and Artistic Director Adonis Rose, this 20-piece big band boasts an ever-growing repertoire that exemplifies jazz’s influence as the grandfather of all modern American music. Adonis Rose and NOJO have made headlines for major performing arts venues around the world, positioning themselves as the ambassadors of New Orleans big band jazz. Their home base is the New Orleans Jazz Market, New Orleans’ only stand-alone facility designed specifically for jazz, where they produce and perform a season of dynamic performances often featuring talented local musicians and internationally acclaimed special guests. .

“The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra has been serving our community and exporting our music and culture around the world for twenty years,” says Adonis Rose, Creative Director of the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra. “We are delighted to celebrate this monumental anniversary with our fans, musical collaborators and patrons of the Jazz Market.
